Grade 202 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel containing 17-19% chromium, 4-6% nickel, and 7.5-10% manganese. It is one of the stainless-steel grades widely used for precipitation hardening and has good corrosion resistance, high hardness, toughness (even at lower temperatures), strength, and weldability.

Grade 304 stainless steel is more resistant to corrosion than grade 202 stainless steel. This is due to the higher chromium and nickel content in grade 304 stainless steel, which provides greater resistance to corrosion than the lower levels found in grade 202 stainless steel.
